BELvue museum

free entry did not sparkle it for me in this museum
history of belgium, told in a manner that did not catch my attention made me go towarda the next art museum after nearly 10 minutes.
they offer free lockers as well
very benelux focused museum. split into two sections: belgium classics and international, it seems like both places have a focus on the region.
lockers cost 1 euro, amount which is returned. they have a machine that changes 5 euros into coins.
wardrobe for free. including umbrellas.
entrance 10 euro and 15 if you choose the magritte collection.
p.s. their temporary exposition is focused on ukraine art.
trying to understand why the big hype for this place. you clearly need a reservation to get in most night, unless you come at the right time between 8:30 and the kitchen closing time around 9:15 and they want to accomodate you.
food was okay, including lobster.
foie gras seemed to be just dumped on the plate with 2 pieces of toast bread, without much flavor.
even the service was not that great with a request to add the salad in between courses which did not happen nor explained that they don't do that. I see no reasons to come here again.

The morchels are the star. A vegetarian Michelin concept which doesn't explain things too much.
Lovely to be able to order your dishes.
Ania's favorite was the rice cakes, which she would call sour rice cakes. Because they have peanuts and sourness.
Bread was nice, but isn't all warm bread?:)
Beetroot tartar has a little too much perfume from the pickled ginger, wasabi and onion.
And now, the morchels. Perfectly combination with rice, which has some crispiness and cooked all dente.
Truffle brioche was also very tasty on the milk bun. Very nicely looking.
We also tried their most expensive red wine on their menu. And I think it tastes like any other 1er cru. I would expect a little more when deciding to pay 280 for a bottle. Especially that the wine brand owner recommends enjoying it until 2022.
Love the fact that they have big and silent vents making the restaurant smell really nice. The variety on the menu is huge including sushi, ramen as well as other traditional japanese dishes.
But when other things are fatter than torro, you ask for more water and they bring you half a cup and the dishes overall don't wow you then you know the place is 3 stars.
