Alter Souk

The Spice and Gold Souk was an experience. It is definitely a tourist place. I went with a small group. The sellers do negotiate with you, but you better understand prices and money value. Or you will pay more for items. Also, if you don't do well in chaotic environments, this may not be for you. The sellers come from everywhere at one time trying to get you to buy their items. What I noticed was that they all had the same product. Many items are made in China and / or Indonesia, which tells me that they get these items either from Amazon or some type of Aliababa wholesalers. Never one to knock another man's hustle. Just double-check products if your expectations are locally made items. Also, during your check out. Stay focused. Have them slow down adding up items. This is where you can get overcharged. We had a couple of guests get taken for a few hundred. Either us dirhams or credit card, not a debit. It's a place to be experienced but be careful.
